School blog about exoplanet observing
We’ve recently launched an exoplanet observing programme, and are looking for people to help with observing these very rare microlensing events. One such group in Ireland has already taken up the challenge and successfully observed 10 different candidates (each one multiple times). Each time the group meets they write a detailed blog entry about their experiences.
They are an astronomy club of 4 students and their science teacher, in Galway Ireland. They are talking part in the Faulkes Universe Challenge which is an International Year of Astronomy 2009, Ireland event (with a prize of visiting ESO). We wish them Good Luck! and happy hunting.
To see how the group is getting on, visit their blog http://jesastronomy.blogspot.com
If you are an LCOGTLas Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network network user in Hawaii, UK or Ireland (or have real time access through the Faulkes Telescope Project) you could part in the the exoplanet programme too. All you need to know is in our Observing Exoplanets group.
