Eta Car

Eta Car
The Eta Carinae Nebula is a large and bright nebula that surrounds several open clusters of stars - Eta Carinae and HD 93129A, two of the most massive and luminous stars known in the Milky Way, are among them.
The nebula is also one of the largest diffuse nebulae in the sky, although relatively unknown compared to other large nebulae (e.g the Orion Nebula) due to its location in the Southern Hemisphere.
This 7 image mosaic was taken using Faulkes Telescope South and the H-Alpha filter. The image reveals prominant dust pillars, dark globules and bright-rimmed globules.
