NGC 6888

NGC 6888
This emission nebula is known as the Crescent Nebula due to its distint shape. It is located in the constellation Cygnus some 5000 light years away.
It was formed by the fast stellar wind from the Wolf-Rayet star colliding with the slower moving wind ejected by the same star earlier in its life.
This image was taken in Hydrogen-Alpha only using Faulkes Telescope North.
