Software

U-boot bootloader is flashed on the Blackfin using Section5’s ICEbear JTAG Adapter and bfloader software.

On the first boot, U-boot downloads a uClinux image via TFTP and writes the image into the 4M flash on the CM-BF537.  U-boot then reprograms itself to boot the image stored in flash, and resets itself.

To build the uClinux image, the Blackfin GNU Toolchain must be installed on the development system.  See blackfin.uclinux.org’s Toolchain Installation Wiki for more information.  The SVN repository contains .rpm packages.  Remember to add /opt/uClinux/bfin-linux-uclibc/bin and /opt/uClinux/bfin-uclinux/bin to your PATH.
