NGC 7331 et al. (Deer Lick Group)

This is NGC 7331 (and company), also called the Deer Lick Group. The large spiral galaxy that dominates the image is about 49 million light years distant, and about 10 times closer than the galaxies in the background. It is only by chance that these galaxies line up on the sky for such a picturesque scene.
